Parker is currently on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in the win over Manchester United in December.

Reports over the weekend suggested Parker could be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with the latest injury, but Curbishley insists the former Newcastle and Charlton man will be back in action in six weeks.

“Contrary to stories this week, Scotty Parker is about a month or six weeks away,” Curbishley told the club’s official website.

Meanwhile, Bobby Zamora and Craig Bellamy both scored for The Hammers in a specially-arranged practice match on Monday.

Zamora has been out of action sice August with a knee injury, while Bellamy is building his fitness after an abdominal problem.

Both forwards scored in the 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers as they work on regaining full fitness.

Benayoun was visting members of his family in his home-town of Dimona when the attack too place, killing one person and wounding six.

The 27-year-old, who heard the explosion, escaped unhurt and has declared himself available for Wednesday’s friendly international with Romania.

“Everything is okay with me but I’m not important,” Benayoun told The Sun.

Jeremie Aliadiere feels victory over Fulham at the weekend will secure Middlesbrough their Premier League place.

Boro have flirted with the bottom three all season but a good run of form since the turn of the year has seen them push towards mid-table.

Now the French striker feels that Boro’s place will be secure if they can seal victory at The Riverside against Fulham.

“The next game is massive for us, if we win that – and we have to – there is a bit of a gap developing between us and the third from bottom team. If we get three points we are almost safe,” he said.

“We were in a difficult position and quite a few people were saying we were destined to go down, but I think we have proved a few of those people wrong.

“We have worked for each other as a team and we have slowly, bit by bit, started climbing the league table.

“We haven’t lost since January 1 and our performances, especially away from home, have got so much better.

“People have been saying we are destined to go down, but we have proved them wrong. We have shown we are a good team.”

Murphy came close to joining Championship side Queens Park Rangers at the end of the January transfer window.

But after speaking with Keane he opted to stay at the Stadium of Light, a decision he insists he is ‘delighted’ with.

“The club accepted an offer for me from QPR and I was just trying to get my head round it when the gaffer called me in, sat me down and said he wanted to keep me at the club and give me a run in the team, and it was then up to me to fight for my place.,” he told the Sunderland Echo.

    Delighted

“I was really trying to get my head round the fact that I was leaving and then that happened.

“I just wanted to go out and play as well as I have always tried to play for Sunderland.

“I think maybe the gaffer realised I do have something to offer the team and the club and I was delighted when he said he wanted to keep me here.

“He has still been playing me and giving me a run, so he has not just kept me for the sake of it. I am delighted I stayed.”

The fifth round tie was set to take place at Fir Park on Tuesday night after falling victim to the weather on Saturday.

However, following two pitch inspections, the clash has once again been put on hold because of a waterlogged pitch.

A statement on the club’s official website confirmed: “Motherwell’s fifth round clash with Dundee has been postponed for the second time.

“Despite having pitch covers in place since Sunday morning, the ground beneath the turn has not had sufficient time to de-saturate and the SFA official has deemed the park unsafe for top-flight football.”

A rescheduled date is expected to be confirmed later on Tuesday.

The Arsenal midfielder is a boyhood Barca supporter and watched the team play on Sunday evening in Camp Nou before flying to Madrid to join the Spain squad.

As the opposition sat back, Barcelona drove forward in search of a goal but only won courtesy of a late strike from Xavi – with Henry playing out on the left flank for the 90 minutes.

“It is difficult to see him out on the left wing for Barca,” Cesc told RAC-1.

    Struggled

“When I played alongside him at Arsenal, he was always the main striker and it is there that he does the most damage because he knows how to move behind the defence.

“But [Barcelona manager Frank] Rijkaard knows him well and knows about the team.”

Barca have struggled to click up front recently, scoring just four times in their last six matches.

“They are not scoring many recently that it is true,” Fabregas continued.

“It is something that I do not understand with the attacking potential that they have there.

“But I suppose that after the important win against Osasuna, the team will be lifted and will start playing again, like the fans want.”

    Comfortable

Cesc was quick to play down any potential speculation of him leaving the Emirates Stadium to join Rijkaard’s side.

“The truth is that I am very happy at Arsenal. We are in three competitions and I am very focussed on the team,” he stated.

“I have always said that I have been a fan since I was very young, but now I am very comfortable in England.

“But I would like Barca to face Arsenal in the [UEFA Champions League] final again.”

Cruyff, who enjoyed a successful spell as manager at Camp Nou during the late 1980s and early 90s, is currently an advisor to Joan Laporta and is believed to have considerable influence over the presdient’s decisions.

However, despite Barca currently languishing six points behind Primera Division leaders Real Madrid, Cruyff has insisted that the rumours are completely false and that they are doing little to help improve the current situation.

    Full support

“Recognising that Madrid (have an advantage) shouldn’t serve to feed completely false rumours like the one that I gave the okay to Mourinho’s arrival,” Cruyff told El Periodico.

The Dutchman also stated that Rijkaard continues to have his full support, insisting “we have a manager until 2009” and “Rijkaard is my friend and you don’t do things behind a friend’s back.”
